Alina Botezat is a senior researcher at the Romanian Academy, Iași Branch, with a PhD in Applied Microeconomics and Economics of Education. Her academic path includes studies in Economics at the University of Mannheim and a CIDER Fellowship in Berlin (2013-2016). Her research focuses on education, migration, wellbeing, health, and policy evaluation, using advanced econometric methods to identify causal effects. She has published in leading international journals and received multiple awards, including from the Romanian Academy and the European Commission. She has held visiting roles at institutions across Europe and Asia.
