Tom Kuppens is associate professor in economics teaching methodology at the School of Educational Studies of Hasselt University (UHasselt) and the Multidisciplinary Institute of Teacher Education (MILO) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He is also associate professor in environmental economics at the Centre for Environmental Sciences (CMK) at UHasselt. He combines both expertises in creating transformative learning environments for sustainable development. Moreover, he is one of three co-presidents of the COPERNICUS Alliance, the European Network of Higher Education for Sustainable Development. He is also one of the founders of werecircle, an alliance of specialists in the circular economy.
